The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) has issued its 2018 call for Letters of Intent for Young Investigators Grants and Program Grants. These grants supports international collaborations in basic research with emphasis placed on novel, innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to fundamental investigations in the life sciences. Grants provide 3 years' support for 2 – 4 member teams; successful teams may be awarded up to US$450,000.
HFSP programs include the Natural Sciences and Engineering fields, with an emphasis on bringing biologists together with scientists from fields such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering to focus on problems at the frontier of the life sciences. The principal applicant must be located in one of the HFSP member countries. However, co-investigators may be from any other country. Preference is given to intercontinental teams.
The deadline for registration (including getting a password) and obtaining a reference number for a 2016 application is 20 March 2017. The deadline for submission of an LOI is 30 March 2017. For more detailed information on this call, and the application process, please visit the website here.
