Gordon's presentation will be on partnership opportunities between industry and academia and how NSERC programs/grants can help connections, engagements and collaborations between companies and universities and colleges. 

In February 2015, Gordon Deveau undertook the position of Manager of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council – Atlantic (NSERC). Before joining NSERC, Gordon was the Manager of Innovation for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and he was directly involved in the management of the Agency’s Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF). The AIF is a research and development program that helps businesses, universities, colleges and research institutions to develop and commercialize new or improved products and services. Over the years, he has also provided leadership and program direction in a number of policy and management positions related to science and technology for a variety of federal and provincial government organizations. Prior to joining ACOA, he worked for the Network Centres of Excellence of Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Memorial University and Parks Canada.
