The Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) has launched a competition for new funding under its innovative Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) program. The program funds centres that bridge the challenging gap between innovation and commercialization. Incorporated as not-for-profit organizations, CECRs match clusters of research expertise with the business community to share the knowledge and resources that bring innovations to market faster. They advance research and facilitate commercialization within priority areas such as the environment; natural resources and energy; health and life sciences; management, business and finance; and information and communications technologies.
Applicants must describe benefits to Canada, demonstrate their own track record and potential, and provide a business plan that charts their proposed centre’s path to becoming self-sustaining within 5-10 years.
Letters of Intent, the first stage of the review process, are due March 6, 2015.
