The US Public Health Service (PHS), of which the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is part, revised its financial conflict of interest regulation for funding applied for or awarded after August 24, 2012. The regulation outlines the obligations of investigators who apply for and/or receive PHS funding to disclose and manage possible financial conflicts of interest. More information regarding this new regulation can be found on the National Institutes of Health website.
As part of our compliance with this regulation, Dalhousie has enacted a Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Policy that is specific to PHS funding. Researchers who either currently hold or plan to apply for PHS funding, including NIH funding, should review this policy.
