Solve real-world problems
A central component of the MREM program is a 4-month internship designed to be completed during the summer semester. During this placement, you'll work with an appropriate host organization to seek innovative and appropriate solutions to pressing resource and environmental issues. It's a partnership: a practical learning experience for you and a scholarly problem-solving exercise for the host organization.
Internships are full-time for 12-16 weeks between May and August. You will spend that time working on a mutually defined problem in resource and environmental management. The host organization can expect the intern to apply specialized knowledge and a scholarly approach in seeking solution options for the problem. In turn, the host organization provides problem definition as well as financial and logistical support for problem-solving services.
