Immigration information

There are several documents that international students need to enter Canada to study and work here. Throughout your time at Dalhousie, you are responsible for maintaining your immigration status and complying with Canadian immigration regulations.

Required documents for studying in Canada

In addition to a study permit, you may also need a provincial attestation letter (PAL) and/or an entry visa (including a temporary resident visa and/or electronic travel authorization).

Students who have been accepted directly into a program with a mandatory work-integrated learning component will also require a co-op work permit.

Dalhousie International Centre

The International Centre provides support services, resources, and immigration advising to international students on all our campuses, manages our exchange and study abroad programs, and acts as a social and cultural hub in Halifax. Meet with one of our advisors or stop in to attend one of our regular social events.
