Class and peer giving

Bring classmates or peers together to support Dalhousie through class and group giving campaigns. Learn how it works, set goals and get support from the Office of Advancement.

How class and group campaigns work

Class and peer group giving initiatives are powered by participation and direct outreach within a shared community.

As a volunteer, you help bring your classmates or peers together around a shared goal. With a clear fundraising purpose and a secure online giving page, you invite others to give back in a way that feels personal and meaningful. Throughout your campaign, the Office of Advancement partners with you to provide strategic guidance, administrative support and stewardship. Together, we help support your efforts and foster lasting impact.

Getting started: turning ideas into action

Launching a giving campaign begins with one or more volunteers stepping forward.

Typical workflow:

  1. Connect with the Office of Advancement to discuss your idea and ask questions.
  2. Choose an initiative and set a goal aligned with Faculty priorities and student needs.
  3. Form a volunteer committee to help reconnect peers and build momentum.
  4. Create a plan of action, including timeline, messaging and outreach strategy.
  5. Launch, fundraise and celebrate, with ongoing support from Advancement every step of the way.

Campaigns are often planned over several weeks and typically run for a defined period of up to eight months.
