Apply to Co‑op ‑ Associated Universities (Engineering)
To apply for co-op, students from associated universities must complete the following steps:
- Apply to Dalhousie and pay the $200 deposit (even if you have a placement in the Engineering Program) by December 15
Note: the co-op application deadline is earlier than the non-co-op program deadline. - Register for the Online Co-op Orientation Course (ENGI 8890) and pay the $300 course deposit deadline by January 15
- Complete the Online Co-op Orientation Course (ENGI 8890) by April 15
See below for detailed instructions on how to register for the ENGI 8890 course. Students who are not eligible for the Co-op Program can have this course fee refunded. - Obtain the Diploma in Engineering and have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 by April 30
Students completing the Diploma in Engineering after April 30 will not have access to co-op job postings for the fall work term, but may choose to conduct a self-directed job search. All self-obtained co-op positions must be approved for co-op by September 15. Students can also choose to take the fall term off, return to classes in January and join the co-op program for the summer work term of 2015. Students who choose to take study term 6 in the fall are normally not eligible for Co-op.
How to register for the Online Co-op Orientation Course (ENGI 8890)
Once your application to Dalhousie is received, you will be issued a Dalhousie ID number. This is required to register for ENGI 8890 by January 15.
To register:
- Go to Student Accounts Web Payments
- Enter your personal information and select:
