COMMUNITY IN COURAGE EIGBIKE AWARD RECIPIENT
I won the ‘communities with courage" award. It means a great deal because I feel honoured to be acknowledged for my deeds and efforts to support those around me, instead of academics. It means a great deal to know that I am recognized for more than just my academic achievements. I have used the awards funds to help me buy the textbooks for my courses this term, and tuition. Thank you, so much to the sponsor. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity you have given me.

The Communities with Courage Eigbike Award is presented to the MSc(OT) student occupational therapist who has demonstrated exceptional involvement and passion for their communities both within and beyond the School environment.
Congratulations to all the award recipients.
"Kudos to Sara Abdo for emphasizing community and acknowledging all the different ways students show up for each other at this year’s welcome (back) event. Award recipients were acknowledged, but the majority of the time was spent with first and second year students and faculty getting to know each other better, sitting in groups at plant-adorned tables. Award committee student reps, Keira and Lauryn, did a lovely job MCing the event. The photographer was there to capture moments (along with the photo booth from previous events). And as usual, Mike, Vanessa, Kelly, Cia and Angie seamlessly helped to ensure there was enough food and that things were set up and cleaned up. Paula welcomed the students and Karen J provided the introduction to the pinning ceremony. It was heart warming welcome (back) for us all. Thanks everyone!"
