Student Update Fall 2025
Student life - in the classroom and beyond
By DOTSS president, Sarah Page
Fall has been an exciting but busy time for the OT students at Dal, with lots happening across both cohorts! The first-year students have been settling in with support from the second-years through peer mentoring, and coordinated anatomy study sessions to help folks adjust to both the program and coursework. The second-year cohort also continues to prepare for their second fieldwork placements in January. Meanwhile, DOTSS has been working hard to keep everyone connected through orientation, study supports, and plenty of lunch-and-learns to come. Additional ongoing initiatives continue to connect students with provincial OT associations.
Beyond the classroom, students have been engaged in a variety of social and extracurricular activities. The Social Committee has hosted events such as board game night and a group outing to Cosmic Bingo, and most recently organized our program's OT Ball, held right after the fall reading break! Students have also been participating in intramural soccer and have become part of a Faculty of Health hockey team!
We would also like to extend a warm congratulations to the MScOT Class of 2025, who celebrated their convocation in October, and are beginning their professional journeys!
