General accommodation policies

  • Final payment is due in full upon arrival.
  • Full payment is required to secure a room.
  • Check-in time is 3 p.m. and check-out time is 10:30 a.m. Additional charges may apply if room is not vacated by 10:30 a.m.
  • Minors (18 years or younger) require supervision of a chaperone (19 years or older).
  • Dalhousie University reserves the right to refuse accommodations to minors.
  • Dalhousie University is a non-smoking environment.
  • Dalhousie University is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property.
  • Pets are not permitted in residence facilities with the exception of working animals.
  • Due to fire regulations, cots, cribs and air mattresses are not permitted in residence rooms.
  • Children over the age of 10 must have their own bed.
  • Dalhousie University reserves the right to change or cancel your accommodation reservation by providing written notice no later than 5 days in advance of your arrival date. If your reservation is changed, should the alternative accommodations be unsatisfactory, you may cancel your reservation and Dalhousie University will refund your monies paid in advance, if applicable.
  • In the event of a circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Dalhousie University (such as any strike or other labour difficulty, fire, storm, flood, etc.), Dalhousie University reserves the right to cancel your booking without notice and without compensation.

Group accommodation policies

  • All group bookings must be confirmed with a required deposit and a signed contract issued by Event & Conference Services.
  • The minimum chaperone-to-minor ratio is 1:8.
  • Cancellation notice must be provided within 90 days (depending on arrangements with Conference Services) prior to the date of arrival or a fee for the group will be charged to the client.
