The Canadian Horizon Europe Secretariat is excited to share that the 2025 Horizon Europe Work Programmes have been pre-published! With Canada’s association to Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe, Canadian entities taking part in international consortia are eligible to receive funding for call for proposals published under the six thematic clusters of Pillar 2, EU Missions and Horizon Europe partnerships. Please consult the pre-published drafts to identify which topics may fit your expertise and the opening dates and deadlines for each call.

The Canadian Horizon Europe Secretariat is excited to share that the European Commission has recognized Canadian excellence in the areas of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, quantum and space! Canada has been granted access to these restricted topics (commonly referred to as “sensitive calls”) under the 2025 Work Programme. We hope that you take advantage of this opportunity to showcase Canadian excellence in emerging technologies!

These calls will officially open in late May on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal  with deadlines in Fall 2025. To prepare your application, we encourage you to attend the European Commission’s cluster-specific info days and the following matchmaking events:

• May 2025: Horizon Europe brokerage events compiled by Prague’s Technology Centre
• May 21: Connexion Canada – connect with Spanish & European researchers and innovators on topics under Digital, Industry & Space (Cluster 4)
• May 29: Canada-Baltics Horizon Europe Networking Event – connect with Baltic researchers and innovators on topics under Digital, Industry & Space (Cluster 4) as well as Climate, Energy and Mobility (Cluster 5)
