Champagne Social
Friends came to the Champagne Social on May 24 to enjoy a delicious meal and celebrate reunion classes of those who graduated in years ending in “5” and “0”.
Yarmouth, Bridgewater (pictured) Sydney and beyond — Dal has been travelling the province for Engagement Days. The result? Deeper ties between Dalhousie and communities across Nova Scotia through dialogue, outreach and innovation.

Convocation
Dal’s Spring 2025 Convocation featured 21 ceremonies, during which we welcomed more than 5,200 new grads to our alumni community. Meet some impressive new Dal alumni in the series of grad profiles.
Dal’s School of Nursing celebrated its 75th anniversary with a gala luncheon and the launch of a new scholarship building on the 65th Anniversary Scholarship’s success. Damilola Iduye (MN’16) spoke about the validation that receiving the earlier award provided her.
At a keynote lecture during Alumni Days, NASA astronaut, oceanographer and notable Dal alum Dr. Kathryn Sullivan (PhD'78) charted the promise and perils of modern space exploration. Associate Professor David Barclay hosted a panel discussion that followed.
An Aggies in the Community dinner featuring Tasty Taters brought together over 100 alumni, students, staff, faculty and community members. This educational, chef-curated event celebrated the humble potato and featured speakers including campus researchers as well as alum Greg Donald (Class of ’89), general manager of the PEI Potato Board.
Women in STEM
In its 7th year, this networking event connected generations of women breaking barriers in science, technology, engineering and math. Crystal Parker (BCSc'24), Doris Grant (BScAgr’94, MScAgr'97) and Denise Pothier (BEng'93) shared their stories of career resilience.
The annual Neville Gilfoy panel discussion included health entrepreneurs who shared informative, inspiring and entertaining stories about how their companies got their start and how they navigate the health-care technology space.
New academic chair
At an event at the University of King’s College, community members from King’s and Dal celebrated a $3.5-million gift from AMS Healthcare and the J & W Murphy Foundation which has established the Roper-Hannah Chair in the History of Healthcare and Health Equity to serve both universities.
Piya Chattopadhyay, Dr. Debra Thompson, and Doug Saunders participated in the fourth annual Stanfield Conversation which tackled “The US Election and Democracy’s Global Fate.”
Celebrating philanthropy with friends and supporters
Dalhousie’s annual Celebration of Philanthropy was an evening with valued friends and supporters, honouring the difference they make across Dal campuses and in communities.
