Jodie earned her BSc (Psychology) from Acadia University and a Masters in Family Studies and Gerontology from Mount Saint Vincent University. She has ten years of professional experience working with older adults in Long-Term Care, Community Day Support, Retirement Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Enhanced Care in Alberta and Nova Scotia. Jodie has travelled to Kenya and Colombia to volunteer with older adults and vulnerable persons of all ages. Jodie has a strong interest in the development and use of assistive technology for maximizing quality of life for people living with dementia and their caregivers. She also has interest in policy development, analysis, and critique. In February 2019, Jodie began working for the Geriatric Medicine Research team as a Research Administrative Coordinator. Jodie is working towards gaining experience in a clinical research setting and plans to pursue a PhD.
