Research Associate

Esmot ara Begum, PhD

Dr. Begum has been working as a Research Associate since January 2016. Prior to this position, Dr. Begum completed a Ph. D in Pediatric at the Mie University (Japan) and her dissertation was focused on Neonatal Physiology. Dr. Begum did her first postdoctoral training at the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience in McGill University. Dr. Begum joined Corkum LABS in 2013 for her 2nd postdoctoral appointment. She has been involved with the Better Nights, Better Days and Better Nights, Better Days for Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders Projects.  

Project Manager

Sydney Dale-McGrath, MA

Sydney has been the project manager for Better Nights, Better Days  since July 2016, and the project manager for the Better Nights, Better Days for Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders since July 2015. Sydney completed her Bachelor of Arts in History (Honours) at Dalhousie University in 2010, as well as a Master's in History at Queen's University in 2012.

Laura Keeler, MA

Laura is the project manager for Teacher Help and has been in the role since August 2018. She previously worked as a research assistant at Corkum LABS starting in 2016. Laura completed her Master's in Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University in 2016.

Case Manager

Michelle Johnson, BSc (Hons)

Michelle is the Case Manager working on the Better Nights, Better Days for Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders project. Michelle received her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in May 2019.

Research Assistants

Derek Van Vorst

Derek is a research assistant for Better Nights, Better Days, as well as Teacher Help, and he has been invloved with the lab since May 2017. Derek is currently completing his Bachelor of Arts in History (Honours) at Dalhousie University.
