TALK: Jamie Moshin

"'The reason I am who I am is my dick' (Lil Dicky): Scripting and Rescripting the Racialized Jewish Body"

Join us for a talk by Jamie Moshin (Instructor of Contemporary Studies, University of King’s College).

In his talk, Dr. Jamie Moshin will investigate the thorny ways in which Jewishness has historically--and is currently--racialized. The Jewish body has always been poked and prodded and laden with symbolic meaning. In particular, Dr. Moshin will lay bare the discourses about the Jewish nose and penis, paying particular attention to hip-hop artist and actor Lil' Dicky, who capitalizes on both his Jewishness and his penile anomaly.
