Message from the presidents

The strength of the DPS depends on the support and involvement of all postdoctoral fellows at Dalhousie University. We encourage you to participate in our regular social events, join the "Dalhousie Postdoctoral Society" Facebook group, visit this website, and join the DPS committee. We are looking forward to any feedback and/or questions you may have.

Dr. Edris Madadian is the current president of the Dalhousie Postdoctoral Society.
Dr. Yashar E. Mondaref
is the current vice-president of the Dalhousie Postdoctoral Society.

Edris Madadian is a Killam postdoctoral research scholar in the Department of Process Engineering and Applied Science at Dalhousie University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University in 2017 with an emphasis on optimization of advanced biofuels production using thermochemical conversion pathways. In 2018, he was awarded the prestigious Isaak Wilton Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship by Dalhousie University. He is currently working on a novel design approach of in-situ landfills reclamation by changing landfills to big biorefineries for hydrogen production. Edris is looking forward to a successful and productive year with the Dalhousie Postdoctoral Society.

Yashar E. Monfared is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science at Dalhousie University. His research is in the realms of applied physics and photonics, particularly in the design, development and application of novel fiber optics and fiber optic sensors. He has published 17 papers as a first author in leading-edge journals/conferences and awarded prestigious scholarships like the Killam Pre-Doctoral Graduate Scholarship and Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship.
