Anita Singh has a PhD in political science from Dalhousie University.  Her research focused on the Indian diaspora’s effect on Canadian foreign policy towards India.   Her work has been supported by several major awards, including SSHRC doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships, which she held at the Munk School of Global Affairs.  Since completing her post-doc, Anita works as a Senior Analyst in the healthcare field in Ontario, where she does survey development and execution, data collection, analysis and interpretation of indicators and strategic planning.  In addition to her healthcare and research, she also does consulting projects where she has worked with a team to develop a research cell for the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, strategic development and organizational planning for a homeless collective in Peel Region and most recently, supporting PhD students in their transitions from academia to the policy world.  Anita continues to research on Canada-India relations, and has more recently focused some of her work on political and community development of diasporic and immigrant communities in Canada.  She is a regular contributor for New Canadian Media and she has recent publications in Canadian Foreign Policy Journal and Diaspora: A Journal of Transnational Studies.
