FACULTY ANNOUNCEMENTS
A message from our Acting Dean,
Dr. Roberta Barker
Dear Students,
Happy New Year! I hope that you are all doing very well and that you had a happy, safe, and restful holiday season. I am just writing to wish you all the very best as we start the Winter 2021 term. After such a difficult year in 2020, I know we are all REALLY hoping that 2021 will be an easier year in every way! More particularly, I hope that the Winter 2021 term will be a rewarding and engaging one for each and every one of you.
We all learned an incredible amount during the Fall 2020 term. Throughout November and December, our faculty members have been working with student feedback on online learning to help shape their winter classes. We’re especially grateful to our Student Advisory Council of eight FASS students from numerous programs and levels of study, who helped us to create recommendations for our professors for the winter term based on the experiences of the fall. We very much hope that this hard work will help both you and your professors in this term’s classes.
Living through a global pandemic continues to be immensely challenging on many levels. If we can help you navigate these challenges, to find supports on campus, or just to learn about opportunities that feed your interests and passions, please don’t hesitate to let us know. I’d love to hear from you at fassdean@dal.ca at any time.
Thank you for being with us in FASS, everyone! Stay safe, be well, and have a good term,
Roberta
