The dates, times and places you need to know
This year's Explore 13-15 program will run at Dalhousie from July 12 to August 14, 2026.
Registration will take place on July 12 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. The placement exam to determine your level of competence in English will take place on Monday, July 13 at 9 a.m. Please plan your arrival with these times in mind. You can plan your departure after breakfast on August 14.
Where you'll be staying
You will be in student residences at Risley Hall, which features single-occupancy rooms. View Risley Hall on the Dalhousie Campus Map. Risley Hall's front entrance is located at 1233 LeMarchant Street. Rooms are not assigned until July 12 after 3 p.m.
Where is Dalhousie University?
Dalhousie University is located in the south end of Halifax, about a half hour drive from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, and a 15-minute walk to downtown.
Getting to campus
- Airport shuttle - If you are arriving by air, use the shuttle service from the Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport to nearby Halifax hotels. You can take the shuttle to downtown Halifax and from there, take a taxi to Dalhousie University, Howe Hall.
- Airport Taxi - Most taxi companies servicing the airport charge a flat rate of $68 to travel to the city.
- If you arrive by train or bus, you can take a taxi (Casino Taxi or Yellow Cab) from the station to Dalhousie University, Howe Hall. You could also catch a Metro Transit bus.
