From apology to action: Moving forward on Lord Dal Panel recommendations

Last fall, Dalhousie received the Lord Dalhousie Panel’s scholarly report and apologized for its namesake’s views and actions on race and slavery. That was just the beginning of a larger process of reconciling with the past and building a stronger future – a process overseen by Vice-Provost Equity and Inclusion Theresa Rajack-Talley.

AFRICAN HERITAGE MONTH

African Heritage Month begins on Saturday, with a wide range of events to follow both on campus and in our local communities.

Everyone is welcome to join in commemorating African Heritage Month 2020 at Dalhousie's Flag Raising and Launch on Monday, February 3 from 12-1:30 p.m. in the LeMarchant Place Atrium (1246 LeMarchant Street).

Additional events during the month include:

February 3: Panel event, "Making It Count: Assessing the Impact of the Decade for People of African Descent on Policy in Nova Scotia"

February 3: Black Student Advising Centre celebration featuring Dr. Renee Horton: "The Power of Believing in Yourself: Reflections of a Rocket Scientist"
