Democracy and Governance
Democracy is sustained through engagement by an involved and informed citizenry; civic engagement is both a vital part of a functioning liberal democracy and a pillar of good governance. This research area includes work on emerging technologies and new media, exploring the ways in which people are learning about and influencing government bodies. This research theme considers how larger geopolitical and cultural shifts shape political cultures and national institutions.
