Carleton Campus

Home to the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health, its proximity to both the IWK Health Centre and the Queen Elizabeth II hospitals provides easy access to clinical practice for health sciences students.

A stone pathway winds through the Carleton Campus quad next to the Sir Charles Tupper Medical Building.

About the Carleton Campus

Dalhousie University students have been studying on our Carleton Campus since 1886, when the whole of the university was located in the historic Forrest Building in Halifax's South End.

Dalhousie University students have been studying on our Carleton Campus since 1886, when the whole of the university was located in the historic Forrest Building in Halifax's South End. The Carleton Campus has since expanded to include buildings such as the Sir Charles Tupper Medical Building and Kellogg Library in 1967 and state-of-the-art Life Sciences Research Institute in 2011. Ideally located near two of Dalhousie's teaching hospitals, its tree-lined grounds are home for Dal's medicine, dentistry, and health students.
