Dal Science Spotlight resumes next week

Having launched last fall, the Dal Science Spotlight series highlights the contributions of instructors and advisors in the Faculty of Science. Recognize an outstanding instructor or advisor by filling out our nomination form. Submissions are welcome from any member of the Dal Science community.  A new submission will be featured weekly in the Dean’s Office Dispatch newsletter.

Doctor of Pharmacy program virtual information session

Dal's College of Pharmacy is holding a virtual information session on the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program on Thursday, January 18 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Interested students can register to attend at this link

Dal Innovates Breakfast Speaker Series

Interested in entrepreneurship and innovation? Come to the breakfast speaker series from Dal Innovates and hear from postdoctoral fellow Dr. Rafaela Andrade and PhD in Health candidate Lynette Peters discussing their journey from researchers to entrepreneurs. The event takes place on Friday, January 19 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on campus in the Deloitte Greenhouse (room 5053) in the Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building. Active Learning Implementation Support Workshop

Faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to attend a workshop on classroom design, syllabus design, and active learning from the Centre for Learning and Teaching on Wednesday, January 24. The workshop will be held in-person, and seats are limited to 30 attendees. Learn more and register to attend on the CLT website

Upcoming deadline: 2024 summer research awards 

Interested in working in a lab for the summer? Applications are due by FridayJanuary 26 for the 2024 summer research awards, which provide funding for dozens of undergraduate students to spend the summer months working as paid, full-time members of a Dalhousie research lab alongside faculty members and graduate students.

Call for Black Career Mentors: PREP Academy Micro-Internship Program

The PREP Academy is seeking Black professionals (faculty and staff) in the fields of health, science, social work, and child & youth to participate in its 2024 Micro-Internship Program, which is being held over March break. The program provides African Nova Scotian students in grades 10,11 and 12 with enriched experiences to explore career possibilities and job shadow with Black professionals.
