Support following earthquake in Turkey, Syria and surrounding region

Members of the Dal Science community who have been impacted by this week’s earthquake centered in Turkey and Syria are encouraged to look up the list of supports available for students, staff and faculty on the Office of Equity and Inclusion’s website. Our thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by this tragedy. If you have been affected, please do not hesitate to get the support you need.

2023 Women in STEM Networking & Panel Event
The faculties of Computer Science, Engineering and Science are hosting their fifth annual Women in STEM event at the Canvas Resto Lounge (Cambridge Suites Hotel) from 6-8:00 pm on March 8, 2023. McCall MacBain Scholarships information session

High-achieving students interested in learning more about the McCall MacBain Scholarships are invited to attend an information session on Wednesday, Feb. 15. McCall MacBain Scholars receive full funding to pursue a master’s or professional degree at McGill University. RSVP to attend the session.

3 Minute Thesis competition for grad students: Preparation workshop on Feb. 16

Registration is now open for the annual 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition from the Faculty of Graduate Studies for research-based master’s and doctoral students. Faculty of Science students thinking of taking part are encouraged to attend a dedicated preparation workshop on Thursday, Feb. 16. Learn more about 3MT and see how to sign up for preparation workshops and coaching sessions on the FGS website.

Upcoming submission deadline: W. Andrew MacKay Alumni Scholarships

Each department, school or college is invited to nominate one candidate for the W. Andrew MacKay Alumni Scholarships, which are awarded annually to undergraduate students who have demonstrated a significant level of involvement in and dedication to the Dalhousie community. Students must be nominated by their appropriate Department Head (under which their major falls), Dean or Director of their school by March 10, 2023. See complete details under ‘Other award opportunities.’
