Self-Enroll Module for Science Students!
The Focused Exploration Module is all about exploring different ideas and skills that impact your academic, personal, and work life. This self-enrol, self-paced Brightspace module is intended to help Science students learn more about themselves, their time-management, overcoming procrastination, career interests, advising opportunities, and developing their inner leader. To sign-up, click here or head to Brightspace -> Academic Support (tab at top) -> Self Registration, and search for the course ‘Focused Exploration’ (code: ONLC.FOCUSEX). The module is open year-round with completion checks at the end of each term. Students can choose to explore on their own and engage with as much/little content as they’d like, or can choose to follow complete specific elements to receive a certificate of completion. To ‘complete’ the module, students must complete 6/10 strategies. Each strategy focuses on a different topic and typically involves watching a short video (e.g., TED Talk) or listening to a short podcast. Students then complete short, interesting activities intended to help them learn more about themselves and their academic, work, and life pathways. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and can opt to have this added to their Co-Curricular Record (CCR). For more information, check out the Brightspace page (search ‘Focused Exploration’).
