Strategic Planning and Reporting

Tracking our progress...

As of August 2010 the Office of Sustainability has completed and obtained approval for an Operational Sustainability Plan for the University [PDF - 389 kB]. Public reports will be released every 3 years.

Dalhousie is a STARS participant

Dalhousie University is a registered participant in a program called STARS (Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment & Rating System), which is administered by AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education).

AASHE’s STARS program is the only one of its kind that involves publicly reporting comprehensive information related to a college or university’s sustainability performance. In August 2011, Dalhousie submitted an assessment report to STARS and was awarded a silver seal. You can read Dalhousie's submitted report on the STARS website.

STARS is open to all institutions of higher education in the U.S. and Canada. STARS is a program based on credits earned; it allows for both internal comparisons as well as comparisons with similar institutions.

Dalhousie is an AASHE member
