2 Quality assurance of the university’s academic units, organizational structure of academic units, and;
3 Senate and committee governance.

Senate Ad Hoc Professional Unsuitability Appeals Committee

The purpose of the Senate Ad Hoc Professional Unsuitability Appeals Committee is to hear appeals by students or residents from Faculty decisions to suspend or dismiss students or residents for reasons of professional unsuitability.

Senate reviews of faculties

Reviews of faculties are a significant responsibility of the Senate and SPGC. Through these reviews, the university demonstrates accountability to its communities and supports the continuous improvement of academic units. Senate reviews of faculties are also a crucial component of Dalhousie’s quality assurance activities, which are reported to the Board of Governors, the Government of Nova Scotia, and the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission.
