The committee for Dal's strategic initiative on diversity and inclusiveness released its action report Thursday, with recommendations for how Dalhousie can become a more respectful and inclusive place to work and study.

With a new certification from the Marine Stewardship Council and a new partnership with the Ecology Action Centre, Dal's Halifax dining halls are providing students with more sustainable fish offerings than ever before.

An icy throne

After leading the build of a surprise ice wall last February, Dal student Hadrian Laing decided to bring a different kind of winter fun to the Studley Quad this year: a Game of Thrones-style chair of ice.

Battle of the brains

Dal students prevailed at the Discovery Centre's second annual Brain War, a challenge event focused on STEM subjects and the liberal arts.

Tigers Weekend Recap (Feb. 27‑ Mar. 1)

It was a crazy weekend for the Tigers, full of both AUS and CIS Championships.

G2 Athletes of the Week (week ending Mar. 1)

Sarah Taplin (Track and Field) and Kashrell Lawrence (Basketball) are this week's G2 Athletes of the Week.

COMMUNITY

The Female Leaders in Academia group offers mentorship and support to women in Dal's Faculty of Agricuture. This weekend it hosts its first community outreach event: a workshop for junior high girls called "Girls Get Wise."

TIGERS TRIUMPH

Last weekend the Tigers men's basketball team pulled off three big wins to claim the AUS championship, and were joined in AUS supremecy by Dal's dominant men's and women's track and field teams.

NEWS BITES

Budget and Tuition: Dal's Budget Advisory Committee has released its recommendations for the university budget, as well as tuition and student fees, for 2015-16. Student consultation sessions are scheduled for March 10, 18 and 31. Full info and details on the Provost's website (right-hand sidebar).

Hurry hard: Cheer on Dal Engineering student Adam Casey as he curls for Team PEI at the Tim Hortons Brier this week.

Dentistry updates: On Monday the participants in restorative justice published an open letter and President Florizone updated the Dal community. For more, visit the Culture of Respect website.
