As a 3rd generation IRS survivor\, Phyllis spoke of how\, on her arrival\, her new orange shirt\, a gift from her granny\, was taken from her\, never to be seen again. It is also known that many children did not survive and so did not return home to their families. The Orange Shirt has become a national symbol on September 30th recognizing that Every Child Matters.
