Munro Day - Friday, Feb. 7

Dalhousie University will be closed on Friday, February 7 for Munro Day. Learn about George Munro and the winter holiday that celebrates the man known as Dal's first great benefactor. 

McCall MacBain Scholarships information session: Feb. 13

Dalhousie University is hosting an information session for the McCall MacBain Scholarships next week. Canada’s largest leadership-based scholarships for master’s and professional studies, the McCall MacBain Scholarships cover tuition and living expenses for eligible programs at McGill University. Learn more and register for the information session.

As well, congratulations to Microbiology and Immunology student Sarah Rondeaux, who was named among the finalists for the 2025 McCall MacBain Scholarships, and Neuroscience alum Ernest Ng (BSc’23), who earned a $5,000 McCall MacBain Regional Award. Learn more about the McCall MacBain Scholarships at Dal, including eligibility and timelines.

Scholarship: Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorology Awards

A new scholarship program funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) aims to increase awareness of atmospheric science and meteorology professions among Canadian students. Dalhousie University students may apply for the following awards:

  • 6 scholarships, each valued at $10,000 CAD, are available to students enrolling in a Meteorology certificate or diploma program, including Dalhousie’s Diploma in Meteorology.
  • 6 scholarships, each valued at $5,000 CAD, are available to students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program, regardless of major. 

The deadline to apply is March 6. Visit the scholarship program website for complete eligibility details and to apply.

Summer Jobs workshop: Feb. 13 

Finding a summer job doesn't have to be stressful! Students are invited to join career advisor Kaitlin Burek of the Bissett Student Success Centre for a workshop focused on tips and tricks for getting summer job-ready. A student panel will also share their experiences searching for summer jobs. Please register to attend via Eventbrite.
