Introducing the Dal Science Spotlight

In the Faculty of Science, we know that many of our course instructors and advisors are doing creative, inspiring and admirable work inside and outside the classroom. To recognize some of the excellence in Science, we are launching a new section of the Dean’s Office Dispatch called the Dal Science Spotlight. Each week, we would like to highlight an advisor or instructor who is making a notable contribution to the student experience.

We have created a form where you can highlight some inspiring instruction or admirable advising. Submissions are welcome from all members of the Dal Science community, including students, faculty and staff. All you need is their name, an optional photo of the person being featured or ther work, and a short (150 words) description of what they're doing that you would like to recognize. If you're an advisor or instructor, you can also feel free to highlight your own work.

If you’d like to recognize some of the great work being done by advisors and instructors in our Faculty, please complete the submission form. Profiles will be featured weekly starting later this summer.

MMM grad's journey from Somalia to Dal

A chance meeting with Dr. Megan Bailey in the Maldives in 2017 put Dal’s Marine Affairs Program on the radar of Rahim Sheik Heile. He’s now set to start work on a PhD with Dr. Bailey this fall. Read this Dal News story on Rahim’s journey.
