Plans announced for Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity
A transformative $8.2-million gift from entrepreneur and conservationist Ross Beaty will fund the development of the Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity, an interactive ocean science discovery centre set to open in the Steele Ocean Sciences Building in 2025. Marine biology student awarded 3M National Student Fellowship
Last summer, marine biology student Aaron Judah worked with Diversity of Nature to create Halifax Shark Week, a series of in-person events for diverse shark scientists to introduce local youth to the sharks and rays found in Nova Scotian waters. For his efforts, Aaron was awarded the 3M National Student Fellowship, which celebrates post-secondary students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and educational vision.
