Exam preparation tips
The exam period for the fall semester is December 9-20. More details about exams at Dalhousie, including exam schedules for the Halifax and Truro campuses, can be found online.

Mental health resources and exam care packages from Student Health & Wellness
If you are feeling stressed or anxious, Student Health & Wellness offers a variety of supports to students, including same-day counselling. Free and confidential counselling through Good2Talk is also available 24/7/365 by calling 1-833-292-3698 or texting GOOD2TALKNS to 686868. Also, every Thursday from 3 to 4:00 p.m. in the Student Union Building, visit Dal’s therapy dog, Oscar, for Puppy Power Hour. During the exam period, Student Health & Wellness will have booths set up providing students with exam care packages containing snacks, exam writing materials and COVID-19 rapid tests. Booths will be set up at the following dates and locations:

Winter orientation webinars from Dal Libraries
In January, Dal Libraries will be running Winter orientation sessions for the Dal community. These sessions will take place synchronously via Teams. Topics include researching the literature review, citation management with Zotero, and an introduction to archival research. See the complete list and register at the Library’s events calendar.

PhD students: Apply by Dec. 16 for the 2023 OpenThink cohort
PhD students with an interest in knowledge translation and sharing their research beyond Dalhousie are invited to apply for a place in the 2023 cohort of the OpenThink initiative. OpenThinkers earn a scholarship of $1,500 and receive communications training on how to write for public audiences, handle media requests, pitch stories and more. You can check out the work of this year’s cohort on the OpenThink blog. Visit the Faculty of Graduate Studies website for the application form and complete details on the OpenThink program.
