A proud Aggie‑versary


Ten years ago today on September 1, 2012, the merger between Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Agricultural College became official — a union that created Dal’s Faculty of Agriculture and established the university’s first formal campus outside of Halifax.

Now, a decade later, not only is the potential of the merger being realized — it’s still growing. On Dal News today, we take a brief look back at how two of Nova Scotia’s longstanding postsecondary institutions became one and the promise that lies ahead in the next decade.

Professor and outreach leader named as Dal Science's first associate dean of equity and inclusion

Dr. Kevin Hewitt, a professor in the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science and former chair of Dalhousie Senate, has been named the Faculty of Science’s associate dean, equity and inclusion, a new position created to lead the Faculty's equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility strategy.

Level up: Dal expands opportunities for grad students to advance teaching skills via international network

Grad students and others interested in teaching development now have access to workshops and course offerings through the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning, a network of 42 institutions across the U.S. and Canada.
