Three of Dal's four undergraduate university medal winners were from the Faculty of Science:

  • Governor General's Silver Medal: Sam Hawkins (Department of Psychology and Neuroscience)
  • University Silver Medal: Alexander Oxner (Department of Psychology and Neuroscience)
  • Avery Prize: Basmah Hendy (Department of Psychology and Neuroscience)

Student position: Help tell Dal’s research story

The Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation is seeking a highly motivated and creative Communications Assistant. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Research and Innovation Communications, the part-time position will support external and internal communications through web and social media content writing, design, and production and other project-related tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for grad students and upper-year undergrads with interests in communications, knowledge translation, and digital media to gain valuable experience in a professional environment.

The position begins as soon as possible and can continue through the fall and winter. Interested students can apply by June 24 via myCareer (login required).

2025 Faculty of Science Summer Institute Series 

This summer, the Faculty of Science is once again offering a series of sessions focused on teaching and learning open to all faculty, staff, and graduate students. No registration is needed. Please join either in-person or online, depending on the format of the session.

The next session, "Crowdmark: Tips and Tricks," will take place on Wednesday, June 25 in-person and online.
