Friday, May 23: The New Space Age with Dr. Kathryn Sullivan (PhD'78)

Renowned NASA astronaut, oceanographer, and Dal alum Dr. Kathryn Sullivan (PhD’78, Earth Sciences) returns to share her remarkable journey on Earth and in space as part of Alumni Days 2025. 

Join Dr. Sullivan and guests for a live panel discussion moderated by Dr. David Barclay on the New Space Age and how privately funded space exploration will impact scientific discovery. A reception with light refreshments will follow the lecture. Attendance is free - RSVP via Eventbrite.

Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Guest Lecture (May 15)

Everyone is welcome to attend the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience's Guest Lecture on Thursday, May 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in LSC Room P4260.

Guest speaker Dr. Marta Kryven, an assistant professor with the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University, will give a talk entitled “Reverse-engineering real-world priors.” Learn more on the Dal events calendar.

Judges wanted: Canada-Wide Science Fair

Youth Science Canada is searching for judges (with PhDs or professional qualifications, or master’s degrees and some experience, including PhD candidates) from all STEM disciplines that would like to be involved in the 2025 Canada-Wide Science Fair from May 31 – June 7 at the University of New Brunswick. Students benefit from mentorship from STEM professionals or trainees.  You can help us to support and inspire the next generation of STEM scholars!
