Logo Design Contest

The Queer Faculty & Staff Caucus of Dalhousie and King’s is looking for a new logo! For a few years, we’ve been using one with the letters QFSC and a rainbow, but it’s time for a fresh look, and we want your help! The person who designs the winning logo will be contacted and receive $100 on their DalCard. The contest closes at 11:59pm, August 16th.  Please see Contest Rules and Guidelines (below) for more details.

Contest Rules and Guidelines

Eligibility: The contest is open to all current Dalhousie University or University of King's College students (regardless of major or area of study), staff, and faculty.

Theme: The logo should reflect the Queer Faculty & Staff Caucus and our Terms of Reference. Terms of Reference and details about the QFSC: https://www.dal.ca/sites/qfsc/terms-of-reference.html

Originality: Submissions must be original and should not infringe upon any copyright or trademark laws, and A.I. should not be used. Plagiarized or copied work will be disqualified.

Format: Designs must be submitted digitally via the online contest submission form. Ideally, your submission would be in a high-resolution format that can be scaled to different sizes but don’t worry if you don’t know how to do this. A super fresh and unique design drawn on a paper napkin will work, too!

Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on August 16th . Depending on the number of entries received, we may choose to extend the deadline.

Number of Entries: Each participant can submit more than one entry

Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on creativity, relevance to the theme, visual appeal, and suitability for various applications (e.g., print, digital, merchandise).

Prizes: The winner will receive $100 on their DalCard

Ownership: By submitting an entry, participants agree to transfer ownership of the winning design to the QFSC for unrestricted use.

Disqualification: Entries containing offensive, derogatory, or inappropriate content will be disqualified. The QFSC reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet the contest criteria or violates the rules.

Announcement of Winner: The winning logo will be announced on the Dalhousie Queer Faculty and Staff Caucus webpage within a month of the contest deadline. Your information won't be shared without your permission.

Feedback: Due to the volume of submissions, individual feedback may not be provided. However, general feedback or critiques may be shared with participants after the winner is announced.
