Study Summary:
This qualitative study is looking to understand the perceived impact of COVID-19 on Nova Scotian primary care providers (PCPs, e.g. nurse practitioners, physicians, social workers, pharmacists, family practice nurses, allied health professionals) and their capacity to manage and respond to this global pandemic. Specifically, we would like to understand the perceived impact of COVID-19 on the Nova Scotian health system and PCP capacity to manage and respond; how PCPs access, share, and disseminate COVID-related information; and how COVID-19 is directly impacting Nova Scotia PCPs. Learnings from this study have the opportunity to inform PCPs and local and provincial government agencies of what is happening to Primary Health Care within the field of primary care during a pandemic. This information will also contribute to future work regarding health system and services’ planning, preparedness, and education about the virus.
