We invite you to participate in the Nova Scotia Travel Activity (NovaTRAC) Halifax survey, a research project conducted by Dalhousie University Transportation Collaboratory (DalTRAC). Through this survey, Halifax Regional Municipality is gathering information on how residents travel in order to better understand and improve our transportation system. The survey will collect information about your household and household members’ daily travel activities. Your response will be combined with travel information from other households in your area, which will give us a better picture of travel patterns and future transportation needs in your community.
This survey is the first of its kind in Nova Scotia! It will collect information regarding daily household travel activities (when, where, why and how people travel) which will be used to inform transportation planning and policy making in the Province. It is important that Nova Scotians take part in this survey to assist the planning of transportation services to meet the needs of communities. Participation is entirely voluntary and information will be kept strictly confidential.
On Monday October 23rd 2017, we sent out text invitations to 2,000 randomly selected households in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). Additional invitations will be distributed via mail to 10,000 randomly selected HRM households before April, 2018. If you were selected or know someone who has been randomly selected, please encourage them to participate! Participation is entirely voluntary, and information will be kept strictly confidential.
