Meet Dal's new Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Chairs
The Killam Chairs are awarded to academics of the highest distinction at Dalhousie, with appointments of up to five years. Congratulations to Dal's newest chairs (pictured left to right): Afua Cooper (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Jeanna Parsons Leigh (Faculty of Health), Mita Dasog (Faculty of Science) and Kevin Plucknett (Faculty of Engineering).
The Ocean Frontier Institute is fully funding two students — one from Dalhousie University and one from Memorial University of Newfoundland — to take part in a semester-long ocean expedition course by the University of Bergen (UiB) aboard the research sailing vessel Statsraad Lehmkuhl.
New research from Sociology prof Michael Halpin into "incels" — a misogynistic online community — suggests their discussion boards are surprisingly diverse. Despite this diversity, the research finds incels are united by their hatred of women.
