Kudos: On Thursday, the Dal community gathered to celebrate Keith Taylor and his many contributions to Dalhousie as he concludes his term as Associate Vice-President Academic. Dr. Taylor came to Dal in 2003 as Dean of Science, and after becoming AVP in 2008, was responsible for starting Dal's International Strategy and Outreach programs.
Dr. Taylor (centre, with his granddaughter) is pictured with (left to right): Kara Paul (Aboriginal Health Sciences Initiative), Karl Dilcher (Chair, Department of Mathematics and Statistics), Carolyn Watters (Vice-President Academic and Provost), Chris Moore (Dean, Faculty of Science).
The part-time academic will be responsible for developing and teaching the introductory Statistics component (equivalent to STAT 1060) of SCIE 1505.18, Integrated Science.
We sit down with President Tom Traves for the first of a two-part, in-depth interview about his career, how Dal has changed during his tenure and how he managed the opportunities and challenges of his presidency.
On Thursday, Dr. Cook completed his leadership term as the inaugural dean, Faculty of Agriculture, and campus principal of the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus, with a campus tour.
