Conversation about “Racialized People” staff and faculty caucus at Dal

Posted by Shirin Shaikh, Program Coordinator, BIPOC Graduate Student Mentoring Academy on March 19, 2025 in General Announcements

Dalhousie is committed to foster an inclusive workplace culture; one that promotes equity, inclusion, representation, and visibility. In the Strategic Plan, Third Century Promise, and through the action items in the Employment Equity Plan, Dalhousie has reiterated its commitment to inclusive excellence.

Inspired by this commitment to inclusive excellence, a group of staff and faculty is exploring the formation of a caucus for "Racialized People”. The caucus would look to address a gap in representation and advocacy for employees from racially and/or ethnically visible communities and aims to provide a safe, supportive space for individuals to network, and find representation.

Staff and faculty at Dalhousie University from this community are invited to join the initial conversation by completing this interest form.

Let's work together towards a more inclusive and supportive campus environment.
