Facilities Management wants to advise of reduced capacity for campus moves in the foreseeable future. This is due to an ongoing labour shortage.
Here is what you can do to help:
- If you know you have several small moves upcoming, try and coordinate them all for one day
- Consider delaying your move
- When safe, consider moving the items yourself
- Use an outside vendor – contact procurement for a list of suppliers
Reminder, even when fully staffed, all moves require 10-15 working days’ notice and must be booked through FAMIS https://www.dal.ca/dept/facilities/services.html. There is only one truck dedicated to moves on campus.
The labour shortage continues to impact service levels in all areas of Facilities Management – if you know anyone who might like to apply please have them visit Dalhousie University | Home (peopleadmin.ca)
