Faculty of Open Learning to host Open House for the university community

Posted by Faculty of Open Learning & Career Development on December 6, 2022 in General Announcements

As 2022 winds down and we count down to a new year, the team at the Faculty of Open Learning & Career Development (OLCD) reflects on the new and renewed partnerships created across Faculties, units and departments at Dalhousie University this past year. These partnerships formed the inspiration for an Open House event on December 8th where the Faculty hopes to meet and greet new and familiar people from Dalhousie in an effort to inspire new connections and collaborations.

Dr. Dianne Tyers, the Faculty’s Dean, reflected on the partnership between OLCD and the Faculty of Management who recently worked together to offer an Academic Leadership Certificate for New Brunswick Community College. “Our partnership with Management is a great example of the power of intra-university collaboration. By combining the strengths of both Faculties, we were able to deliver a successful and impactful program for NBCC.”

There are many inspired conversations and collaborations to highlight from 2022 and through initiatives led by the Faculty like microcredentialing and Recognition of Prior Learning, the team hopes to spark new ideas and new ways of doing things at Dalhousie for the benefit of our students. Also, if you’re looking to learn more about your own professional development and the options available at OLCD, visit the Open House to hear about the tuition waiver program and the courses we offer for your own career development.

If you’re unable to attend the Open House on December 8th, but would like to learn more about what we do, please consider subscribing to our bi-weekly newsletter, which includes details on upcoming webinars and courses available at the Faculty.
