The History of Science and Technology Program at the University of King’s College invites applications for one Teaching Assistant position for “Science Fiction in Film” (HSTC 2500) in the Fall 2022 Term. The course explores the ways science and technology are represented in science fiction film and uses these representations to discuss science and technology themes relevant to contemporary society.

Duties include but not limited to:

• reading course material 
• grading assignments and exams 
• holding office hours 
• attending lectures (please consult the Dalhousie Academic Timetable regarding class time) 
• running short tutorials with students near the end of each class 
• consulting on a regular basis with the instructor regarding the approach taken in teaching, grading and other expectations

Qualifications and Experience: Candidates may come from various fields but should have at least an undergraduate degree. Graduates with some background in STEM subjects and/or the history and philosophy of science are especially encouraged to apply. Prior TA experience is also an asset.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.27 (classification of TA130). Position is conditional on the course’s final enrollment numbers
