Dalhousie’s United Way Steering Committee is recruiting new members

Posted by Dalhousie's United Way Steering Committee on August 2, 2022 in General Announcements

Dalhousie’s United Way steering committee has a mandate to reduce poverty in our communities by running an annual campaign on campus to raise funds for the United Way. In order to be successful, our steering committee is looking for new talent to fill the following volunteer roles:

Secretary/Minute-taker

  • Booking meetings via Outlook as required (virtual or in-person, depending on current needs as indicated by the committee co-chairs).
  • Taking notes/minutes at the meetings.
  • Assisting with organizing the end-of-campaign thank you event for United Way volunteers across Dalhousie.

Employee Campaign Coordinator Lead

  • Confirm Employee Campaign Coordinators for units across all Dalhousie campuses.
  • Share information from United Way Halifax on how to engage donors.
  • Share regular updates with Employee Campaign Coordinators about the campaign, goals, events, etc.
  • Take part in, and help facilitate, events when possible.
  • Assist in planning the annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.

Joining this steering committee is a great way to build skills, meet news colleagues, and contribute to a worthy community cause. Please contact chloe.westlake@dal.ca if you are interested in either of these openings.
