Join experts in creativity and management for an outstanding educational experience with a focus on creativity and innovation
NSCAD University, in partnership with Dalhousie University, is launching a new certificate to teach working professionals how to bring their entrepreneurial and artistic sides together in the workplace. The Creativity and Innovation Certificate is a six-week online course presenting new research tools, techniques and approaches to empower participants to think disruptively and creatively about solutions. The program is a move by both universities to venture beyond traditional problem-solving approaches in the design of policies, programs, services and products, and instead think about change and solutions in exciting new ways.
"Creativity allows you to connect deeply with yourself and your own unique set of talents, influences, and perspectives,” said Dinuk Wijeratne, Juno Award winning conductor, composer, musician and instructor on the Creativity and Innovation Certificate roster. “In doing so, you connect more deeply with your peers, and shift your workplace culture towards one that is more fun, expressive, and innovative. Creativity leads to better solutions for you, your workplace, and your clients."
Taught by experts in creativity and management, participants will be guided through a hands-on, process-based approach to creative problem-solving. They will learn to expand their skills, to challenge preconceptions and discover how to generate creative solutions that can add value to their professional environments.
This course is recommended for those who would like to bring new ideas to the workplace; entrepreneurs who are seeking to broaden their skillset in a creative way; and idea generators contributing to organizational successes. The skills learned could be applied in a wide range of industries including business, government and not-for-profits.
