Dalhousie University has signed a contract with Student Work Placement Program Partner Magnet for funding to support the hiring of co-op students. This funding via Magnet comes from a program administered by Employment and Social Development Canada.
Receive up to $7,500 to hire a co-op student from business, engineering, computer science or science co-op programs for the Winter 2021 semester. Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the labour market, some co-op students are still available.
With a job description and a few more details co-op staff can approve funding for 75% of the cost (up to $7,500) and students must be paid a minimum of $15/hr. Co-op opportunities must be at least 35 hours per week a minimum of 8-14 weeks (depending on program).
