Upper Studley Campus Power Outage ‑ August 24th

Posted by Facilities Management on July 29, 2020 in Facilities Management

Please note that a power outage affecting Upper Studley Campus will take place on Monday, August 24, 2020 to allow for urgent repair of one of the main feeds for the Killam Library. This outage will affect Chemistry, Chemistry Storage, Howe Hall, LMP and the Dunn Building as follows:

  • Monday, August 24th, 2020 from 7am-4pm - Chemistry, Chemistry Storage, Howe Hall, LMP
  • Monday, August 24th, 2020 from 8am-1pm – Sir James Dunn Building

As in past outages, re-routing power from other buildings, or backup generators may be available on a case-by-case basis if you have special emergency power needs.

Killam Library - No generator back-up

Killam Data Centre - Full generator back-up

Howe Hall – Full generator back-up

LeMarchant Place - Full generator back-up

Chemistry - No generator back-up

Chemistry Storage – Back up power for essential services only

Dunn Building – No generator back-up

Please note that, due to fume hoods not having back-up power, there will be no entry to the Chemistry Building until there has been an air clearance test performed after the power has been reinstated.

Facilities Management has determined that this schedule will enable the servicing required to complete the necessary repair while causing the least disruption to campus activities.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Glen Deveau, Project Manager - cell: 902-222-2217 | email: glen.deveau@dal.ca.
